Hi there, and welcome to my little home on the internet!

 

Born and raised in Saint Louis, MO, I moved to New York upon finishing college and have called it my home ever since. I currently reside in Brooklyn with my husband, our dog and two cats, who are—with certainty—the most entertaining creatures I have ever met.

 

Art and design have always played a defining role in my life. I grew up taking countless drawing, color theory and painting classes and designing nearly as many T-shirts for school events. I chose art history as a major in my undergraduate studies. I went into advertising to satisfy my need to be surrounded by creativity. And I have forever been drawn to smart and attractive packaging, logos, menus, retail displays, you name it. It was only a matter of time before design became the career I chose for myself.

 

In my prior life, I worked as a brand strategist, determining what makes consumers tick and using those insights to guide the development of various brands. This experience instilled in me the importance of directed creativity—the concept that design must possess not only appeal and stopping power, but also clarity, relevance, meaning and motivation. It is this intention that I strive for in all of my work.
